- Charlie James Gallery
- Wednesday - Saturday
12:00 am - 6:00 pm
The Charlie James Gallery formed in 2008 and had its first show in November of 2008 in its Chinatown, Los Angeles location.
The gallery’s focus leans toward work that in some way questions, studies, or comments on issues of contemporary cultural and artistic significance. The gallery has invested in visual activists of international reputation like Steve Lambert and art world provocateurs like William Powhida. The gallery also has a focus on contemporary Persian art, representing two of the finest young artists of the Iranian diaspora – Ala Ebtekar and Taravat Talepasand. The gallery works with a number of outstanding contemporary feminist artists, including Daniela Comani, Orly Cogan, and Elisabeth Higgins-O’Connor.
Charlie James Gallery is committed to collaborating on a long-term basis with its select roster of emerging & mid-career artists through museum-quality exhibitions as well as through domestic and international art fairs. In addition, guest-curated exhibitions are featured, thus providing a venue for critical discourse and context between invited and gallery-represented artists.
